Introduction of the online journal Education Sciences – Education-Research-Innovation

Education Sciences – Education-Research-Innovation is an online journal that was founded in 2013. It is published by the Faculty of Education and Psychology of Eötvös Loránd University and is managed by the Institute of Education.

The journal has two main sections. The Studies/Articles (Tanulmányok) section contains three subsections. (1) The Looking Out (Kitekintés) subsection presents foreign language articles published in the international sphere and articles accumulating the results of previous (international) research on the focus topic of the issue providing a state of the art report in the field. (2) The Focus (Fókusz) subsection introduces articles revealing new results of scientific research addressing the thematic focus of the journal issue that is always a topic of great interest in the field of Education Science. This is occasionally written by called upon authors or edited by a guest editor. (3) The Panorama (Körkép) subsection receives texts from authors who are ready to share new results of their scientific research. With this subsection the journal aims to ensure the free flow of science. Articles submitted to the journal will be peer reviewed anonymously.

The Review (Szemle) section contains five subsections. The Current Reading Matter (Aktuális olvasnivaló) subsection provides reviews of the latest publications of the Hungarian and International literature, the Key Issues (Kulcskérdések) subsection provides critical thoughts of publications in a certain topic. The Reread (Újraolvasva) subsection introduces fresh rereadings of prior literature. The Perspectives (Nézőpontok) subsection publishes opinions of different authors on the same work. The Review section might also hostPressReview.

The articles published in the journal are expected to come from a wide range of authors Hungarian and international researchers of education science and its related fields, teachers, educators and innovators who consider important the scientific and high level cultivation of education. Each issue is also published with an English version of the table of contents, abstracts and a short introduction of its authors. The journal will publish original work that has not been formerly published in any other form and it has not been handed-in, nor under consideration by any other printed or online journals, and it will not be considered until the publishing decision by the present journal. Detailed information regarding the submission and the publication of the text can be found on the website. The Author’s Declaration can also be found on the website – by submitting the declaration when submitting the article the author(s) automatically accept the principles of the journal. The Publisher does not charge any fees for the peer review or the publication in case of acceptance. 

The journal gives permission to the author(s) to publish the manuscript even if it has been previouslyaccepted by the editorial board and contains the suggestions of the peer-reviewers (the so-called pre-print versions) prior to the final version,without limitation of time and free of charge (by e-mail on the website of the author or of his/her institution or at the closed or open access repository of the institution, or the university of the author or at other non-profit servers). In case of publishing the manuscript in the above-mentioned ways, the author must notify the readers that it is not the final version of the text and the final version is expected to be published in the Neveléstudomány journal. After the final version has been published the author has the permission of using the post-print version, in this case the author is obliged to give the exact place of the final publication in Neveléstudomány. The author remains the owner of the property rights of the article, although in case of republication the exact data of the first publication must be indicated.

The journal is Open Access (Gold). The documents can be freely saved and copied electronically; without any changes, they can be used with reference to the source. The use cannot serve commercial purposes, it is intended solely for personal use. For all other forms of distribution and use shall be governed by the LXXVI. Copyright Act and related legislation.The electronic version shall be governed by the conditions of the CC BY-NC—ND (Creative Commons- Attribution-Non Commercial—No Derivatives) licence.
